We provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment for all members to help one another and progress together. All members are eligible to attend the following training:

• Weekly meeting – Our training is held two times a week and the duration of training is 3 hours (19:30-22:30)

Every meeting will be a combination of the following:

• Lectures: Mentors and trainers will instruct about debating skills and share their experiences.
• News analysis: Members will discuss recent news and related issues.
• Debating practice: Members will engage in full debate practice.
• Video watching: Members can learn debating skills through viewing and analysing the videos of the debating tournaments.
• Workshop by Invited Guests

We will invite experienced debaters and trainers in English debating to organize training workshop to our team members. These workshops can give team members intensive training and new perspective.

Eligibility & Application

What We Provide to Team Members

• Excellent environment to practice spoken English, enhance critical thinking, broaden horizons, increase confidence, and gain international exposures.
• Intensive training in weekly meeting, public demonstration debates, mentor (senior team member)-mentee (junior team member) guidance, intervarsity friendly debates, training workshops, etc.
• Opportunities to participate in regional and international debating competitions taking place in various cities in the world.
• Other privilege of University Team members (e.g. priority in locker rental, dormitory room placement, and specific programmes application, etc.)

  Actively attend training including weekly meetings, public demonstration debates, lectures, workshops, friendly debates, etc, to grasp the chance to grow and show your potential.
• Show your passion!
  Be self-motivated to learn, to know, to gain, to be well-prepared.
• Show your talent!
  Contribute to the team development with your talent. We have posts in the team ranging from team management, financial assistant, and technical support such as photography, design, writing, promotion, webpage setup etc. And you are strongly recommended to be one of our amusement activity coordinators if you enjoy singing, dancing, etc.
• Show your commitment!

Join us in all the EDT activities, in which you will not only have fun, but also gain a lot of friends and experience.

Individual participation and performance would be the selection criteria to attend international competitions and other quota limited programmes.
