According to the Law of Macao, all non-local students studying at Macao’s tertiary education institutions have to apply for the “Special Authorization to Stay” (Student Visa). Failing to comply with this requirement will result in violation of the law and a serious consequence. In addition, part of the international student(s) might need an “Entry Visa”. 1. Appointment
After completing the registration procedure, please visit the “Integrated Online System for Special Authorization to Stay for Non-resident Students” to submit the required documents and approach the Macao Immigration Office to apply for Special Authorization to Stay on the appointed date.
2. Approach the Immigration Office in person and required documents to be presented
- Original of the Travel Documents (e.g. Passport)
- 1.5 inch Passport Photo (only for students who have not uploaded the photo to the system)
- The QR code generated by the system
3. Completion
Please approach to the following location(s) by presenting the original “Travel Documents” before the specific date shown in the “Application Receipt” to complete the application procedure. Otherwise, failure to comply with this requirement will result in violation of the law which fine MOP500-800 per overdue day or interdict from entry to Macao.

To cope with the minor (under the age of 18) non-local students, please complete and submit the original declaration (CLICK) on or before 22 Aug 2025 to Student Activity Centre E31-2007 for acknowledging and consenting the University delegating staff to accompany for the application. If no declaration being received by the required date, it will be deemed that the minor student(s) prefer to complete the application on their own.

Entry Visas are required by Macao Immigration Department except the followings.

Other than above nationals, visa can be obtained from the Immigration Services through Embassies/Consulates of the PRC and should be used before the expiry date.
Visas are also available upon arrival in Macau at the Immigration Services for a period of 30 days. There are four types:

After your arrival in Macao, if you want to travel to Mainland China, visa can be obtained at any of the China Travel Service (CTS) office counters at Macao, Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao S.A.R., or the Gongbei Immigration and Customs (at the China Border Gate). Both one-time and multiple entry visa (6 months) are available which requires at least 3 working days.

All non-local students who have enrolled at a higher education institutions in Macao and been granted “Special Authorization to Stay” by the Immigration Office have to pay attention to the following if you are no longer studying because of withdrawal, suspension, and early completion of the program:
- You should leave Macao on or before the first government working day following the completion of the school leaving procedure.
- If you need to extend your limit of stay in Macao, you should cancel your original “Special Authorization to Stay” – student type in person at the Immigration Office and apply for ordinary “Special Authorization to Stay” for the purpose of extension of stay and single departure from Macao during office hours on the first government working day following the completion of the school leaving procedure.
Otherwise, starting from the second government working day following the receipt of the formal notification by the Immigration Office, you will become “overstayers” if you remain stay in Macao.
